Name: Mainspring
Description:
- Body: retains it's original light gray color
- Hair: rerooted with "atomic turquoise" nylon dollyhair
- Symbol: gears and screws on right side and back leg, including three dimensional
elements; small gear on right front foot; painted screw on right ear
- Eyes: full repaint from blue to gray with blue eye shadow (my first full eye repaint!)
- Embellishments: Permanent half braid in tail (upper bow is removable, lower bow is
not); permanent embellishment made from small cameo, real freshwater pearls and pheasant
feathers in mane; permanent, gently flexible wings of wire and beads anchored in sides; permanently attached
handmade goggles tied around head (made from antique typewriter keys, wire and ribbon); permanent "scarf"
made from yarn, ribbon and thin necklace chain
Made from: G1 Pillow Talk (1986)
Completed: August 2008
Other notes: Mainspring was strongly influenced by steampunk, and is named for the spiral
spring of metal ribbon that is the power source in windup watches and clocks (it's also the
title of a novel by Jay Lake).
